Volunteer speakers are eager to visit classrooms in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Many of our speakers have first-hand knowledge about the internment camps and/or the role of the Nisei soldiers in World War II. Younger speakers aim to keep the memories of their grandparents and parents alive by learning about and sharing intergenerational knowledge about the internment. Many others believe knowledge of our national ethnic history is critical to the continued health of our society and have invested time and effort in learning about Japanese American history.
All volunteer speakers have completed our internment speaker training workshop. For more information or to schedule a visit, please contact Sally Sudo at ssudo@comcast.net or 952-835-7374 (days and evenings).
